Board of Regents
The USU Board of Regents is comprised of 15 members who are appointed by the Secretary of Defense; six individuals are appointed based upon their ex officio position in the federal government. The remaining nine members are appointed as experts and consultants under the authority of 5 U.S.C. § 3109 and serve as special government employees. All 15 members are appointed to provide advice on behalf of the government on the basis of their best judgment without representing any particular point of view and in a manner that is free from conflict of interest. These University advisors are dedicated and distinguished members of the health care community and uniformed services, advocating excellence in education, research and responsible public service.
