Dr. Connie Mariano, a Class of 81' School of Medicine graduate, has spent her entire career transforming boundaries. Not only was she the military's first Filipino-American flag officer but she also became the first female director of the White House Medical Unit.
While stationed in Washington, D.C., Mariano cared for three U.S. presidents, often times under very intense working conditions.
WWhite House medicine is a different kind of battlefield medicine," she said. "But USU and my military career helped prepare me for it."
