Purpose: To support conceptualization of an evidence-based clinical question and development of a clinical guideline based on preliminary evidence or a topic that influences nursing practice and patient outcomes.
Award: Up to $150,000 in direct costs to support development of up to three protocols for no more than 24 months.
Eligibility: Master's- or doctoral-level active duty Nurse Corps officers stationed at military medical facilities.
Special Requirements: Master's or doctoral degree and doctorally prepared active duty nurse mentor trained in EBP required. Must be stationed at a military medical facility. A follow-on implementation application is expected.
Purpose: To support the implementation of an innovation or clinical guideline developed from a thorough review of the current evidence or of an already established guideline.
Award: Up to $150,000 in direct costs to support implementation of up to three protocols for no more than 24 months.
Eligibility: Master's- or doctoral-level active duty Nurse Corps officers stationed at military medical facilities.
Special Requirements: Master's or doctoral degree and doctorally prepared active duty nurse mentor trained in EBP required. Must be stationed at a military medical facility.
Purpose: To train and expand the skills of doctorally prepared military nurse researchers.
Award: Up to $150,000 in direct costs for 12 to 18 months.
Eligibility: Doctoral-level active duty Nurse Corps officers with research experience.
Special Requirements: Mentor required.
Purpose: To support a dissertation/thesis research project.
Award: Up to $30,000 in direct costs for dissertation or thesis research.
Eligibility: Active duty and reserve students pursuing a master's degree in nursing or a doctoral degree.
Special Requirements: Mentor required. Only one award per thesis or dissertation. Written approval for the project topic from applicant's dissertation or thesis committee must accompany the application. Applicant's committee chair must generate the documentation.
Purpose:To facilitate rapid implementation of a short-term research study of emerging, service-specific questions.
Award:Up to $30,000 in direct costs for up to 15 months.
Eligibility:Active duty Nurse Corps officers with research experience.
