ADVISORY COMMITTEE
COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS
Adult Social Committee
Develops friendships and camaraderie by organizing fun events. These can include happy hours, game nights, potlucks, scrapbooking, book clubs, bowling nights, girls'/couples' night out, White House tours, walk/run for charities, and more.
Fundraising Committee
Organizes, promotes, and manages fundraisers throughout the year, including the USU Holiday Party. Proceeds go to support SSC and identified charities.
Membership Committee
Welcomes all incoming spouses by reaching out and offering recognition and support before they arrive. Plans and organizes the first-year orientation and welcome barbeque.
Men's Group
Provides a forum for husbands, fiancés, and boyfriends of students to get together to socialize with events such as poker tournaments, sports games, and more.
Parent Tot Group
Builds fun relationships with other spouses and their kids (of any age) while exploring different parks, museums, malls, and other fun places in the DC area.
Parties Committee
Organizes a fall and spring event every year for SSC members. Non-member spouses and their families are welcome to attend all SSC parties with a $5
fee per family.
Sunshine Committee
Provides support to those in need, celebrates new beginnings (births and marriages), and provides encouragement to our spouses and their fellow students.
