Office of Scientific Management (OSM)
Mission
The Office of Scientific Management (OSM) for Grants and Contracts provides scientific and administrative oversight for research grants and contracts managed by the University. OSM assists USU Program Directors and Principal Investigators by providing specific guidance on planning for a two-tier review process: Scientific Technical Review Panels (STRPs) and Oversight Committees (OC). The OSM provides secondary review for USU-sponsored human/animal research protocols being conducted at other institutions or sites, ensuring that all such research and/or clinical investigations are conducted in full compliance with all applicable Federal, Department of Defense and USU regulations, Directives, Instructions and Memoranda. It also assures regulatory compliance and proper reporting requirements for USU-sponsored programs through close collaboration with the Henry M. Jackson Foundation (HMJF), particularly its Regulatory Affairs Office and Office of Sponsored Programs.
