- NIH Office of Extramural Research
Information about NIH extramural research and research training programs, funding opportunities, grants policy, and award data.
- Division of Research Grants (DRG)
The Division of Research Grants provides staff support to the Office of the Director, NIH, in the formulation of grant application review policies and procedures. In addition, DRG provides central receipt of all PHS applications for research and research training support, and makes initial referral to PHS components. DRG also assigns NIH applications to supporting institutes and centers and to DRG initial review groups, and provides for scientific review of most NIH research grants and Individual National Research Service Awards (Fellowships). This also provides access to study section rosters.
- Edison (extramural invention reporting)
- Entrez and NCBI
Includes databases on nucleotides, proteins, genomes, taxonomy and PubMed. PubMed is a project developed in conjunction with publishers of biomedical literature as a search tool for accessing literature citations and linking to full-text journals at Web sites of participating publishers.
- NIH Computer Retrieval of Information on Scientific Projects (CRISP)
This searchable grants and contracts database is currently available on the Internet as a gopher-based system containing information on research projects and programs supported by the Department of Health and Human Services.
- NIH Forms (Via NIH)
The following are documents that may help investigators prepare research proposals to the NIH. Please note that if you use the link to the NIH forms at Baylor and Rice you should not use the face-page contained in these forms. Rather, you should use an original, printed version of the form obtained from a forms packet from the Grants Office. NIH has informed us that grants submitted using computer versions of the form risk administrative rejection. Please contact the Office of Research for a forms kit.
- NIH Institute, Center and Division (ICD) Pages
Information about the NIH Institutes, Centers, and Divisions (ICDs), including IC-specific grant and contract funding opportunities and policies, may be found on the web Pages each ICD has established. A linked list of ICD sites is on the NIH Home Page.
