Alumni Achievements
Our Medical Psychology graduates have been successful in a variety of job settings, including academic, government, industrial, and entrepreneurial contexts. Graduates in tenure-track academic settings have performed well, with several individuals currently at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. Many of our Medical Psychology graduates are active contributors to the behavioral and biomedical scientific literatures, and have received national or local awards for their work. Deborah J. Bowen, Ph.D. (1986 graduate): Outstanding Contributions to Health Psychology, American Psychological Association, Division 38.
Jane B. Acri, Ph.D. (1992 graduate): Outstanding Psychopharmacologist Award, American Psychological Association, Division 28.
Yavin Shaham, Ph.D. (1992 graduate): Award for Innovative Research in Drug Addiction, Society for Neuroscience.
Stephen M. Patterson, Ph.D. (1994 graduate): Fetzer Foundation Fellow, Academy of Behavioral Medicine Research.
E. Jon Popke, Ph.D. (1997 graduate): Outstanding Investigator, Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco.
Laura C. Klein, Ph.D. (1997 graduate): Outstanding Investigator, Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco.
