MILITARY COMMAND STRUCTURE
- Is the Senior Military Advisor to the President of the University
- Implements the Uniformed Code of Military Justice within the University
- Supports the University's worldwide military medical operations and contingencies
- Supervises the coordination and support for the various military field exercises that are part of the curriculum of the School of Medicine
- Provides career development for assigned officers, and enlisted personnel that enhances competitiveness for promotion, future jobs and retention in the Uniformed Services
The following offices report to the Brigade Commander:
The Commandant of the School of Medicine, the Commandant of the Graduate School of Nursing, the Headquarters Company Commander, the Brigade Adjutant, the Brigade Senior Enlisted Advisor, the Military Personnel Officer, the Brigade Surgeon, the Brigade Operations Officer, and the Brigade Chaplain.
The Commandant of the F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine
- Serves as the Military Dean for the School of Medicine;
- Serves as Deputy Brigade Commander
- Oversees the professional development of the medical students as uniformed medical officers by assuring that each student is thoroughly grounded in the history, traditions, and customs of the student's uniformed service
