The Graduate School of Nursing is ideally situated just a few miles from Washington, D.C. in Bethesda, Md. The GSN alumni are uniquely prepared to practice in medicine in a diverse range of settings. Many of the GSN students take part in field exercises in order to prepare them for the challenges of military medicine. The annual march across the Antietam National Battlefield gives the GSN students a unique perspective on the evolution of military medicine.
Operation Bushmaster is a field exercise that aims to closely replicate battlefield conditions. During Research Week, the GSN students showcase their research projects during poster sessions held in the University breeze way. The GSN students have access to cutting-edge technology at the National Capital Area Medical Simulation Center. Many of the GSN faculty members have first-hand knowledge of the types of deployment situations they are preparing their students to face.
The GSN faculty is engaged in important research that promotes a healthier world. The Graduate School of Nursing is a joint service environment.
